Tam is Professor in the Department of English at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his PhD in comparative literature from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He has published books and articles on modern Chinese literature, comparative studies of the theatre, and Western literary theory.;Weiss was Associate Professor in the Department of English at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his PhD in English from the University of New Mexico and taught at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champagin, and the University of Maine before he came to Hong Kong.
